Cherubim exists to give talented young musicians access to instrumenta that match their performance needs. If you meet the following criteria we warmly welcome an application to enter our portfolio of candidates whose information we circulate to potential donors. It is therefore in applicants’ interest to make an attractive and convincing a presentation, including a good photo.

Cherubim has an active programme of fund-raising, but you need to be aware that this can take a matter of months. We particularly welcome those of a proactive disposition.

We welcome applications but there are some restrictions.
Our age limit is 15-23. Applicants must be based in the UK for study.
Cherubim purchases instruments (max value £20k) for loan to awardees. It also accepts donated instruments of professional calibre for loan.
It does not give grants
, but in some circumstances might consider contributing investment toward a purchase.
Cherubim does not acquire or loan electronic equipment or instruments whose value depreciates rapidly.
We are happy to accept donated strings, but presently refer applicants to Benslow Trust, whose specialise in strings.
We are happy to accept donated pianos of good quality, but for logistical reasons are unlikely to acquire more.
Due to practicality, applications from central and southern England & Wales are treated more favourably. The Trust will only consider applicants north of Manchester in exceptional circumstances.

Terms & conditions apply to loans. In particular, Cherubim instruments may not be taken out of the UK except with the written permission of the Trust. For full details see PDF download.
