Cherubim awardee Daria Lalji (Double Bass) has rejoined the London Schools Symphony Orchestra and will be playing in their concert at the Barbican on 9th January 2018. Great news about our Cherubim awardee and flautist Octavia Lamb: she has won the place of 2017/18 flautist on the English National Opera’s ‘Evolve Pathway scheme’. Octavia plays in rehearsals for ENO and is mentored by their principal flute. We wish her every success in this exciting new role.
Cherubim has acquired two new bows to complement the 1752 Klotz violin given in memory of Keith Dale. One is a baroque bow, the other an early classical design. Both are modern copies made by the young Israeli bow maker Eitan Hoffer. Eitan Hoffer bows
The trustees thank Felix for his staunch service over the last five years and wish him well as he hands the role of chairman to David Ganderton. David is a lifelong music lover who has recently come to live in Tisbury. He approaches his new responsibilities with an equal measure of enthusiasm and trepidation.
