Cherubim’s latest awardee is an oboist at secondary school. A member of the National Children’s Orchestra and Oxfordshire Schools SO, Ethan is also first oboe in the National Children’s Wind Sinfonia. Formerly a treble with Oxford Boys’ Choir, Ethan performed as soloist in Mendelssohn’s Elijah and was selected by conductor Andrew Parrott as soloist in Perpetua by Nick Bicat. In addition to playing oboe Ethan is also a pianist and organist, and sings in his school choir, with whom he recently visited the US performing Monteverdi Vespers.
