Jesus Godoy Marquez

Jesús Godoy Marquez was born in Dos Hermanas, Seville, in 2008. At the age of 8, he started his cello studies at the E.M. Maestro Andres Segovia with Carmen Fernandez as his teacher. He received second prize in the National Competition America Martinez in 2019. In 2020, he began his studies in Conservatorio Profesional Francisco Guerrero with Alejandro Martinez Gonzalez as teacher. At the same time, he receives lessons from Claudio Baviera. In 2021, he spends 2 weeks in Music Summer School "Reina Sofia," a musician summer camp receiving classes from prestigious musicians. In 2022 and 2023, he attends both years to Encore Music Project (The Yehudi Menuhin School) in London with Richard May. He starts his music studies at Wells Cathedral School in 2022 with a music specialist scholarship. Currently he is in Year 11.
Cherubim are pleased to be able to award the newly acquired 'Brayshaw' Jacob Ford (attrib) 18thC cello to Jesús and hope it can bring the added warmth and tone to his playing that he desired.
