About the Event
Cherubim has commissioned Proms composer James B Wilson to write an original work for our exceptional Wells flautist Lily Owens called Siren Song. Composer James says: “Siren Song is a drama without dialogue for flute, piano and sound enhancement. You the audience are present in an wordless environment whose acoustics reflect the spaces we inhabit – imaginary streets, half-familiar rooms. It’s an acoustic fantasy: the enhanced sound of the flute is akin to the breath. The central figure of the flute reflects isolation but also imaginative
possibilities for the imagination.”
Join us in the preview premiere of this exciting new work with other contemporary music by contemporary minimalists like Arvo Pärt, John Adams and
atmospheric electronic music by MM Steer & Roberto Fabbriciani.
