Introducing a new awardee, Katie Messenger (pictured here with our Director Michael Maxwell Steer). Katie borrows our ‘Rothermere-Gosling’ Moosmann Bassoon and attends Wells Cathedral School.
Katie was First bassoon in the National Children’s Orchestra this year, and she performed the Rite of Spring opening solo for the English Schools Orchestra 2022. She has a busy life in the music department at school and hopes to go on to study bassoon at music college.
Katie has named the bassoon Montague which we think is an excellent name! Welcome Katie!
