Jenny Malone-Lee gave Cherubim £10k in memory of her husband because she loved our awardees performing the Mozart. They had been to our performances together and he had always enjoyed them. We have used it to buy a piccolo and alto flute for Lily Owens which she will be using for the Siren Song concert.
Lily has now been offered substantial scholarships at all the London colleges she applied, and is waiting to make a decision. Here you can see Jenny and Lily looking at the £7500 piccolo. The value of the three flutes Lily takes to college in the autumn is £26k, which will equip her to perform the full range of solo repertoire in any concerto.
