Siren Song Success

hc8425

We had a brilliant first preview of Siren Song last Saturday in the elegant surroundings of Farrington Music Centre, courtesy of Port Regis School.

As well as Cherubim Young Musician Lily Owens unveiling James B Wilson’s masterpiece to the world, she also played Spiegel im Spiegel by Arvo Pärt on our new Haynes Alto Flute, donated by Jenny Malone-Lee in memory of her husband.

The rest of the programme consisted of music written in the last 50 years performed on the piano by Emma Walker, and also audiophonic works by Denis Smalley, Roberto Fabbriciani and Cherubim director Michael Maxwell Steer.

Everyone is now preparing for the official premiere at Cedars Hall, Wells Cathedral School, Wells BA5 2ST on Sat 18 Jan 2025. You can book here https://cedarshallwells.co.uk/events/siren-song/ where Lily will also premiere her solo live + prerecorded Vermont Counterpoint by Steve Reich.
