Welcome to our new Awardee Abigail Debenham

Abigail is a multi-instrumentalist who started learning bassoon at the start of year 9 having already achieved grade 8 in flute alongside studying at grade 5 piano and has now begun teaching herself clarinet.

Frequently perform at Derngate Theatre, as part of the County Training Orchestra (as 1st bassoon) and the County Youth Concert Band (on piccolo) Abigail is also part of the County Flute Choir, currently playing alto flute.

She has been awarded a music scholarship for bassoon at Uppingham School for a place commencing in September 2025 and hopes that loaning this professional bassoon will help me to achieve my goals and bring me closer to my dream of joining a conservatoire.

We very much look forward to seeing where the loan of the Moosmann Bassoon will take Abigail next!
