To apply for an instrument, start by checking out the instrument pages to see what is currently available. Then complete the form below. Once we receive it we will respond within a couple of days. NB Cherubim does not give grants or loan money.
The Cherubim Trust currently has over 70 instruments on five year loan to young musicians. If the instrument you want isn’t available, you can enquire at info@cherubimtrust.org about being placed on a waiting list, or the possibility of the Trust acquiring one we do not currently possess.
The following additional notes may help you decide whether to proceed with making an application:
- Applicants should be aged 15-25
- They must be first study instrumentalists, resident or studying in the UK, and based within 200 miles of London
- Cherubim does not acquire/loan electronic equipment, pianos, or instruments whose value depreciates rapidly
- The cost includes a loan charge based on the value of the instrument (reduced for those at school) and insurance, details below. A precise figure will be advised on acceptance.

The cost includes a loan charge based on the value of the instrument, in addition to which insurance is payable; a precise figure will be advised on acceptance

- £3-8k = £264 (£22pm)
- £8-12k = £324 (£27pm)
- £12-17k = £384 (£32pm)
- £17-20k = £432 (£36pm)
- >£20k = £480 (£40pm)
There is a reduction of £48pa for students at school. A supplement of £198pa is charged after graduation.
