The Cherubim Music Trust is delighted to announce the launch of a new crowdfunding campaign as part of its XXV Anniversary Year, helping to expand support for exceptional young musicians across the UK.
For 25 years, Cherubim has provided talented young artists with the long-term loan of fine instruments, bows and harps, supporting musicians at crucial stages of their development. Many former awardees have gone on to study at leading conservatoires and universities, and to build successful professional careers.
The new campaign aims to raise £30,000 towards the expansion of Cherubim’s harp collection, enabling the Trust to support more outstanding young harpists in the years ahead.

Access to professional-level instruments remains one of the greatest challenges facing many young musicians and their families. Through the loan of high-quality instruments, Cherubim seeks to ensure that exceptional talent is never limited by financial circumstance.
The launch of the campaign coincides with the announcement of new Cherubim harp awardee Jamaal Kashim. Currently studying at the University of Cambridge after earlier studies at the Royal College of Music Junior Department, Jamaal has already established an impressive profile as both a performer and composer.
A semi-finalist in BBC Young Musician 2024, Jamaal has performed at venues including Wigmore Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, the Concertgebouw and the Berlin Konzerthaus, and has appeared with leading youth orchestras and ensembles.
As part of the award, Jamaal will receive the loan of a new Salvi Aurora harp, supporting the next stage of his musical journey.
At Cherubim, we believe that talent should never be restricted by financial circumstance. This campaign is about creating opportunities and ensuring that outstanding young musicians can flourish.
Every donation to the appeal will directly support the acquisition, restoration and long-term loan of instruments to young musicians.
