Alexia Pasquariello is a London-based freelance flautist whose luminous tone and vivid musical intelligence have won praise across the UK and Europe. A recent postgraduate alumni of the Royal Academy of Music, Alexia is active as a concerto soloist with regional orchestras, a committed chamber musician and an energetic freelancer in London — balancing orchestral auditions, residencies and a growing programme of solo and ensemble engagements. She regularly performs in venues including Queen Elizabeth Hall, St John’s Smith Square and Cadogan Hall, and presents programmes that blend traditional repertoire with contemporary voices.
Born and trained in Bucharest, Alexia was described by IQ de Romania as “one of the top 100 most remarkable young musicians of Romania.” She is a multiple prize winner including first prize at the National Music Olympiad and awards from the Emanuel Elenescu and The Golden Pound competitions. She has appeared as soloist with the Bucharest Symphony and Pitești Symphony orchestras and was a member of the National “Dinu Lipatti” Youth Orchestra and the National Woodwind and Brass Orchestra. Instrument awards from the Royal Philharmonic Society and the Cherubim Trust supported key steps in her career.
Her artistic development has been shaped by dedicated study with William Bennett, Karen Jones, Paul Edmund-Davies, Katherine Baker, Samuel Coles, Gitte Marcusson and Keith Bragg as well as masterclasses with Sir James Galway, Denis Bouriakov, Emmanuel Pahud, Silvia Careddu and Emily Beynon. As an artist she champions carefully curated programmes, collaborative chamber repertoire and new works that expand the flute’s expressive range.
