Cherubim celebrates its XXV Anniversary at the Savile Club

Cherubim Music Trust welcomed musicians, friends and supporters to the magnificent Savile Club on Friday 11 September for a special celebration marking its XXV Anniversary.

The evening featured performances by four outstanding young harpists: Jamaal Kashim, Defne Anar, Emma Buckley and Liliia Konstantinova. Their playing filled the Club’s elegant surroundings and offered a powerful demonstration of the difference that access to an exceptional instrument can make to a developing musician.

The celebration brought together members of the Cherubim community to reflect on the Trust’s first 25 years and look forward to its next chapter. Since its founding, Cherubim has supported more than 400 young musicians by lending them professional-quality instruments—often for periods of up to five years—at a crucial stage in their artistic development.

Today, the Trust’s collection comprises more than 80 instruments, each helping a talented performer to pursue opportunities that might otherwise remain beyond reach. The XXV Anniversary was a wonderful opportunity to recognise the generosity of Cherubim’s supporters, whose contributions make this work possible.

Members of Cherubim’s senior leadership team—Michael Maxwell, Arturo Serna, Steve Welford and Sarah Brooks—were present to meet supporters, share stories from the Trust’s first 25 years and celebrate all that the Cherubim community has achieved. We were also delighted to welcome distinguished violinist and longstanding Cherubim supporter Tamsin Little.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the Savile Club for hosting us, to Jamaal, Defne, Emma and Liliia for their memorable performances, and to everyone who joined us for such a joyful evening.

We look forward to building on the achievements of the past 25 years and helping many more promising musicians fulfil their potential.
