This summer, Cherubim Music Trust is delighted to support Erin Healy as she takes on one of the most iconic solo violin roles in the orchestral repertoire: the solo violin part in Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, performed with the London Schools Symphony Orchestra.
Erin is a student at the London Centre for Young Musicians, where she currently studies with Linda McLaren while her long-term teacher, Anna Brigham, is on maternity leave. Erin already plays on a fine German violin on loan from Cherubim’s instrument bank, and we are proud to be part of her musical journey.

For Scheherazade, however, the solo violin line must soar above the orchestra with brilliance, colour and projection. Keen to help Erin shine in this important role, we were pleased to offer her the opportunity to try an early 20th-century violin by Hidalgo Moya. Erin and Linda both agreed immediately: the Moya offers a brighter tone and stronger projection—exactly what Rimsky-Korsakov’s dazzling score demands.
We are thrilled to support Erin at this exciting stage in her career and look forward to hearing her bring Scheherazade’s golden storytelling to life this summer.
