Florence is a violist and multi-instrumentalist studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with Alex Thorndike. She is a highly committed orchestral and chamber musician with a strong focus on collaborative performance.
Florence is the Principal Viola of the West of England Youth Orchestra, conducted by Tim Redmond, where she has gained extensive experience performing major orchestral repertoire and developing leadership within an ensemble. Orchestral playing is central to her musical work.
She is also an active chamber musician, taking part in a wide range of ensembles from string quartets to a cello, classical guitar and viola trio, exploring both classical and contemporary repertoire.
Alongside her studies, Florence has consistently engaged with her local music community, volunteering at musical events and projects, from work with young children to performing at community events. She is grateful to have been awarded an instrument by the trust, which plays an important role in supporting her ongoing musical development.
