Sylvie has been playing the oboe since the age of 11 when she became a chorister at Norwich Cathedral and was awarded a grant from the cathedral to study an instrument. She has made really good progress and shows great dedication and commitment. Her aim is to study music at a conservatoire and become a professional musician. She is currently a member of Norfolk County Youth Orchestra.
Sylvie would make use of the instrument to further develop her skills at Chetham’s School of Music, which she will starting at the sixth form in 2026.
We are very pleased to welcome Sylvie as the newest recipient of Cherubim’s Howarth XL ‘Rutter’ Oboe and look forward to seeing what progress she can make with this new instrument.
