We were richly entertained by Alistair McGowan’s unique presentation skills, combining performances at the piano, impressions of familiar people in the public eye, and readings of his own wonderfully witty poetry.
Alistair was accompanied by Daffyd Owen who gave us a tour of tuba, from the humorous through to the subtelty of this often overlooked orchestral instrument, and Alec Banner who had the audience spellbound with his performance of four pieces for the marimba, one with accompanying vibraphone. Both Cherubim Awardees are clearly standout performers, with the confidence to perform music to the highest standard.
