Lydia Greenwood first started the violin at age 4, studying under the Suzuki method. She has played in principal positions in the CBSO Youth Orchestra for the past two years and was the former concertmaster of the Birmingham Schools String Sinfonia and Symphony Orchestra, during which the orchestra was awarded first place in the Music for Youth Festival and were given the opportunity to play at the Royal Albert Hall. She has also performed at Manchester Cathedral, Media City and Symphony Hall, and performed alongside the BBC Philharmonic and CBSO.
She has also played in solo masterclasses with Guy Braunstein, Prof. Madeleine Mitchell and Lowri Porter and in chamber music masterclasses with Vlad Bogdanas (Danel Quartet) and Oliver Wilson (Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment). Recently, she was awarded 3rd prize for Instrumental Duo in the Opus One Summer Festival.

Lydia is absolutely delighted to have received the Harrison violin from the Trust and is excited to be supported by such a fine instrument.
