We start our Anniversary year with an updated Angel logo designed by Sam Steer, who designs most of our communications, and has also created the upgraded website with Stephen Welford.
XXV Anniversary Appeal
This year we are appealing for £100,000 with which to fund Cherubim’s next steps, including the purchase of our fourth concert harp. Our Cherubim Collection, now 80 instruments could well reach 100 by the end of the year given the rate of loans and donations. We have over 70 awardees.
This means the back office aspect of conservation, record-keeping and the loan and return of instruments is requiring increasing time and professional management. Happily we have the professionals in the shape of Arturo Serna Deputy Director, Awardees & Instruments and Sarah Brooks as administrator, backed up by our Treasurer Stephen Welford. But we do need an enhanced endowment to generate income to meet these rising costs.
Perhaps £100,000 seems unachievable? Well, everything that Cherubim has achieved seemed unachievable! 25 years ago it would have been inconceivable that we would now have over 80 instruments worth £800,000. Indeed, all this has only been possible because many different individuals have come forward at the right time to offer help, funding or instruments, often in unimaginable ways. So we can but hope.
We have already raised £8000: only 8% of the target maybe, but 25% of a harp!
