We are delighted to welcome bassoonist Clover Bigmore as a Cherubim awardee.
Clover is the recipient of a Fox 201 Professional bassoon, having begun her musical journey at the age of 10 through the Endangered Instruments scheme at the Centre for Young Musicians in London. Now 16, she studies at Wells Cathedral School on a specialist music scholarship, where she is preparing for conservatoire auditions alongside her A Levels.
She studies bassoon with Connie Tanner and is currently working towards her diploma, while pursuing a wide range of musical activities. A committed orchestral and chamber musician, Clover performs regularly with the Wells Symphony Orchestra and has also appeared with ensembles including the London Schools Symphony Orchestra, English Schools Orchestra, NYO Inspire, National Children’s Orchestra, and the South London Youth Orchestra.
Reflecting on her new instrument, Clover writes:
“The chance to help choose Cherubim’s next bassoon and to borrow it is brilliant. The Fox sounds amazing and has all the keywork I need to play at a really high level. It’s a huge relief to know I can keep working with this bassoon wherever my music takes me.”
Alongside her bassoon playing, Clover is a talented multi-instrumentalist and academic musician, holding an ARSM diploma in flute, Grade 8 singing, and performing with the National Youth Choir of Great Britain (15–18). She has also been awarded both a school academic scholarship and the Wells academic music prize.
We are delighted to support Clover at this exciting stage in her musical journey and look forward to following her progress in the years ahead. ✨
